Alas

No more hiding things in plain sight. A friend sent a birthday gift for Sam and it arrived a few days ago. He's been pretty oblivious to such things for ages so I just put it up on the bookshelves in the living room believing he'd leave it alone until we handed it to him and told him to have at it. But I think he learned that there is something interesting under paper yesterday when one of my coworkers gave him a Christmas present (a book) that we encouraged him to open immediately.

This morning I was in the dining room reading the paper, drinking my tea when I heard a ripping sound and went to investigate. Sam had helped himself to his birthday gift and was very excited by his find! Whooo hooo! An Elmo electronic telephone that talks constantly when it's flipped open! Sam is thrilled of course. He has no idea who Elmo is and just likes that when he pushes buttons it makes noise. Sammy's phone!

The project of the day today will be getting all the Christmas presents out of my office and into a more inconspicious space or I suspect I'll be rewrapping everything.
