Now that he's talking a lot, he says things that amuse us. For instance, he adds "boo" at the end of our names so I'm "Mommyboo", Ben is "Daddyboo" and he, of course, is "Sammyboo." For some reason, the pets and other people escape this honor.
He's also taken to saying "better!" when something is reconfigured to his liking. He doesn't, however, say that after we've changed his diaper even though Ben and I both say better at that point.
Ben's been telling Sam that he's going to get trains for Christmas and Sam merrily yells out "Trains Christmas!" When I ask him what Christmas is he yells out "Trains Christmas!" And today I told him that we were going to put up the Christmas tree on his birthday he got all excited and repeated "Christmas tree on birthday!" even though he has no idea what that means.
On the other hand, he's also saying things that are less than exciting. After Ben's team lost the other day Ben said "that gamed sucked" and claims that Sam said "Mama suck." Huh? What did I do to deserve that? There probably are days when I suck but I'd rather he not verbalize the thought.
That picture of Sam shows his big grin and dirty beat up face. I have no idea where he got the scratch between his eyes or why he had a bit of rash on his face. Ragamuffin child. He's always got various bumps and bruises that I can't explain. But a kiss still fixes just about everything "better!" and he's off to find trouble once again.
And in an update, my work friend wasn't able to adopt the four year old boy immediately because the judge wouldn't allow it even though the mother was willing to give up custody immediately. They brought him home and their current child, also adopted, is having some trouble adjusting but they say the four year old is doing well. I don't know how long it'll be before they actually get custody.
