Sam's entering into the imagination stage

He's been using a stick he found outside as a pony. The yardsticks work great for that too and yesterday Judyboo showed him how to use the yardsticks to be a train which of course he loved. The other day I asked him how his nap was and he told me "Sammy sleep on a cloud!" He also tells me "I'm making a fountain!" as he sticks a spoon under the running water in the sink. We've finally moving away from a narrative style of talking to one that shows independent thought.

He's talking up a storm and has been doing a very irritating (according to me, Ben likes it of course) "ayeah" thing in place of saying "yes." I've been forcing him to say yes whenever it's reasonable to do so but I'm guessing this is going to be a hard one to break since Ben is actively encouraging him to continue with his inarticulate "ayaeah." I imagine that if he keeps doing it Ben will get really irritated with Sam when he's a sullen teenager mumbling ayeah while avoiding eye contact when he asks him to take out the mow the lawn. Wait, that's not realistic! I'd be the one asking him to mow the lawn....

This is the line I use on Chip when he's encouraging the kids to do things they shouldn't: "You're not the uncle this time!"

Well, Lukas has developed a rather annoying habit of, rather than saying "es" saying "yes sirree Bob!" He also says, "no a-ree bob" and "okay a-ree bod". It all comes from letting him listen to old Bill Cosby comedy albums.

I'm going to use that line on Ben, that's for sure! And I bet the a-ree bob stuff was cute the first time, eh?
