I'm finding it VERY irritating. I generally feel young so when something happens that indicates that I'm no longer a spring chicken it's like a slap in the face.
Last night I went to sew the buttons back on a NEW pair of pants (and yes, I'm also irritated at the original workmanship too) and found that I couldn't see well enough to thread the stupid needle. Yes, I know I need bifocals but this was nuts. I couldn't see to do it wearing my glasses and I couldn't see without my glasses either. I ended up getting a different needle with a bigger hole just to increase my odds of finding the right spot and eventually I was successful. Sam was trying to help so I was working under a handicap but still, I don't like reminders that I'm old. Too bad his eye-hand coordination is still a little suspect or I'd have had him thread the needle for me.
I guess I should just suck it up and go to the eye doc and get my eyes tested once again.

Needles have eyes. I thought they did away with them years ago. I found the needle threader my grandma had when I was little and that keeps the frustration level down (a little). But the fact I have to use it now and again, well, as Paul says, "it beats the alternative...judy
I completely forgot about those threaders and now I'll have to get one. Argh! Buying one will make me feel old but yup, it does beat the alternative.
whose "eyes" are tired and need checking?
Or is this post giving you "the needle" in and of itself?
Unclear if the "handicap" is trying to do it yourself with/out your grandma's device, with the young-in alongside, your (declining?) eyesight, your (increasing?) age, all of the above, none of the above, some of the above.
