Now that we have designated exercise space

You'd think that it would be easy to work out and stay in shape. The one thing the room doesn't provide is motivation, especially for consistent workouts. The other thing it doesn't provide is babysitting so when we do get around to exercising, the workout is subject to multiple interuptions. I've decided that when I'm lifting weights, Sam needs to wait to get his most recent boo boo kissed until I've finished my set. Child abuse!

But I've also learned that one of the best ways to work out with a Sampanion is to include him in the workout as shown below. First we have the overhead Sam press and you can see that he enjoys this particular move very much. But what he likes best is to be used in lieu of a barbell for leg work. Squats, leg presses, lunges, he loves them all. Leg presses are his favorite of course because that way he gets to be very close to the ceiling. I don't recommend this method of weightlifting, it's a tad unpredictable and the weight itself is generally somewhat unbalanced but it does have a certain challenge that can't be replicated with an ordinary barbell.

Oh, as you may be able to tell from the pictures, Sam had a haircut on Friday. I was tempted to do have his head nearly shaved for the summer but just couldn't bring myself to have it done. He lucked out for the moment but that can always change.

I think your new workout routine is called "Sam-ercizing"! Is that what Sandy does at her gym??
