On Friday I took Sam over to the Echo Center where they not only have lots of big fish for Sam to gawk at, they've also got some traveling exhibits, the most recent of which is "Grossology: The Impolite Science of the Human Body" and of course I thought it was very important that we see this exhibit despite us being so refined and all.
The highlight of the exhibit, if you want to call it that, is Snotty. I don't believe that Snotty is his official name but that's how Sam refers to him. He is quite impressive and scary to small children. Sam wouldn't go near this huge talking faucet of snot for the longest time and didn't seem to care to discover that he (Sam) was brewing up a new batch of snot every 20 minutes, one of the tidbits of information imparted by this display.
Sam also discovered the joys of one of my favorite games as a child - Operation! They had a huge game complete with kitchen tongs, rubber organs, and bones that had an appropriately disgusting texture. Sam didn't seem to mind all the beeps and lights his surgical methods were initiating but I suggest that he refrain from conducting surgery any time in the near future.
We didn't get to explore as much as we'd have liked because the place was positively seething with school kids on end-of-the-year field trips. After an hour of dodging kids and chasing Sam I decided I needed to get out of there for my own sanity so we headed out for a bit of uban rock climbing.

My kids loved Grossology back in the day. We had the computer game when it was new - they roared with laughter while they played.
