Slip sliding away

Things were a little slow around here on Sunday afternoon so Sam grabbed his fishing pole and we decided to go to the frog pond so he could test his luck. Things have changed a lot since we last checked in at the pond. Evidence of frog reproduction is gone at this point and seems to have been replaced with an impressive carpet of slime. It looks as though you don’t even need to be Jesus to walk on water.

Sam’s casting leaves a bit to be desired but we found that if you dangled the big plastic wormlike fake bait (it’s hookless) just over the water the frogs would attack. At one point one frog was hanging on for dear life and I’m not sure what he thought he was going to do with it after he caught it but he went for it more than once. Entertainment? Huge new food?

Actual casts meant a bevy of slime and weeds, enough to make Sam cry because he thought something was wrong with his pole. Nope just slime.

So what does he do?

Bathtime came early.

He managed to survive and he likes to talk about it. "I fell into the frog pond and got all slimy!"
