A minor miracle

Sam has finally discovered that it can be fun to "read" books all by himself. In the past, he'd shove a book in my face and say "Mama read this to me!" (we're working on manners but it's a very slow process) but he didn't seem to understand that he could enjoy the pictures without me. He's been doing this for a few weeks now and this morning he spent about 15 minutes, an eternity in Samtime, "reading" Richard Scarry's "What Do People Do All Day."

Now, if I could extend his reading time to two hours I might actually be able to get something done.

15 minutes is not too shabby! Now you have to get him interested in coloring and drawing. It'll take some investment of time now, but later you'll be glad you did it! Abbie will spend and hour or two drawing picture after picture. It's a beautiful thing
