Tonight Sam didn’t want to eat his dinner and decided to stand in front of the open refrigerator and demand/help himself to whatever he felt he should have instead. I calmly told him no, he could come and eat his dinner. He persisted in his refrigerator exploration so I closed it and put the Sam-proof latch on the door. He wailed. Since that had no effect he went upstairs and it was deadly quiet which always makes me suspicious.
There were no lights on in any of the rooms on the second floor, just the light up to the attic/Ben’s office. I expected destruction and chaos but instead, he told me cheerfully “I was mad at you and I didn’t want to see you so I came up here.” Then he happily came downstairs and ate his dinner.
Then we played trains.
The end.

Nice - he gave himself a time out!
What horrible thing were you offering him for dinner? Brussels sprouts? Lima beans?
Try grilled cheese and green beans. Horrible horrible stuff!
(Oh, Ben wasn't home for dinner and when he's not around, I cook a whole lot less)
Yes, that dinner is pure torture for a kid!! Too funny.
I love grilled cheese and green beans. If you add Campbell's tomato soup, it's one of my all time favorite meals. Yes, cheese! Shut up already.
I thought that story was so cute I felt a little choked up at the end. I'm not kidding.
