Thanksgiving was lovely yet poignant. Ben’s Dad is not doing very well and we were all aware that it was likely the last Thanksgiving at the farm with the entire family. It is hard to treat it like every other year in this situation and a reminder that we need to be thankful for what we have when we have it rather than taking it for granted.
It’s hard to contemplate the changes ahead.
It was wonderful to see Ben’s family and to see Sam playing with his cousins who are much older than him but who involved him in a game of glow in the dark Frisbee (yes, of course in the house!) leading to much squealing, glee, and fear of waking those who were napping. We chatted, ate well, and generally didn’t do much at all. Quite satisfying.
