The past director of our office showed up today a little hot around the collar. He told us he needed to go talk to the head of HR because he's now on Medicare and he discovered that when covered by both Medicare and retiree insurance you move to a new insurance group where you have an annual deductable of $1,000, significantly more than he'd had before he was Medicare eligible.
I understand being angry to have his costs go up when he switched to coverage that should in theory cost cost the retiree program less.
But somehow I was less sympathetic when in his next breath he was telling us about his new Lexus and his condos in both FL and VT....

You're not sympathetic to that? How do you expect him to make the payments on those luxury items if he has to pay a high deductible. ;-)
Sorry, but a $1000 deductible looks pretty good from where I'm sitting!!!
