On the First Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me

(Don’t even try to set this to music)

One strand of white lights (Ben put them on while I was out and we had only one strand of white lights but three or four of colored lights that he claimed he didn’t see.)

Two people decorating (Ben opted out)

Three Christmas stockings (the cats will do without this year)

Four stuffed ornaments on one branch

Five Christmas specials (granted the Little Drummer Boy is lame and shouldn’t be counted)

Six tall skinny breakable knickknacks

Seven broken ornaments (two were salt dough ornaments from last year and one was a newly acquired ornament at the church fair/school fundraiser where we bought our tree. One was a huge purple ornament that is now in shards)

Eight admonishments to be careful

Nine Cinnamon dough ornaments (elephants are always Christmas-appropriate and the glitter glue does add a nice sparkle)

Tenth day of Christmas dude is now half his former self. Is he now the fifth day?

Eleven joyful yelps “Mama we’re working hard!”

Twelve plus ornaments all at the bottom!

I haven’t decided if I’m going to leave the ornament density with the current distribution or wait until Sam goes to bed to rearrange it. Then again, I could just wait to move them when they fall off the tree.

Any guesstimates on the number of ornaments that will bite the dust this year?

This sure bring memories of Christmas' Past. Tell Sam he did a great job decorating the bottom half of the tree. :) Thought you knew all Christmas ornaments are supposed to be unbreakable.

You broke the ornament from the church sale on saturday already?!

Good job - I only got a quick glance at it, but it looked hideous!

The half lord a' leapin' is my favorite...
