Portrait of an accident

Some may call it child abuse but I maintain, it was an accident. It all started innocently enough with Sam playing with his dragon on the floor. A slipperly hardwood floor.

Sam decided to move his dragon just as I was stepping over him. My foot landed right on top of the dragon and lo and behold, the dragon would make an excellent pair of ice skates if it weren't so floppy and large. Ignore the stuff in the upper right hand corner of the picture...
The next part is difficult to reinact so visualize me flying through the air and landing right on top of Sam. Poor little kid. Apparently he's quite resilient because he cried for only a minute or so while I watched the bump on his head swelling at cartoon character speeds.
Inventory of injuries
Sam: left brow noggin knock, two left fingers painful
Me: Achy left wrist and right ankle, skinned left knee
The next day it's nice and purple...
Pediatrician says to make up a good story and enjoy the color show to come.

Wow, that's quite a wallop on Sam's head! But don't we also get pictures of your knee?
