Quinn is definitely a cutiepie and he's good as gold. I heard him crying hard only once and that was as we were headed back to the hotel on Sat. evening. Hotel? Oh yes, Sam and I were staying at a fancy one that just opened in New Brunswick recently so it was cheap. It had all sorts of amenities there is no opportunity to use when traveling with kiddies. Sam, however, made his own amenities. Sam's spa pod for instance:Of course he also brought his own entertainment. Yes, that's what Sam packed for the trip; it's amazing how much fits into his little green backpack.
Sam and Abbie enjoyed themselves in a uniquely preschool manner. Sam loved to see how mad he could make Abbie. Every time she wanted something, Sam somehow managed to get his hands on it first and then hung on tight just to see how much she'd wail. It turns out she wails a lot. Thank goodness for moments of peace.
We had all sorts of options for entertainment...go into the city, go to the beach, stay at Lisa's friends and watch Abbie and Sam fight, etc. We worried and plotted and decided on Grounds for Sculpture, a treasure of a place Lisa and Chip hadn't heard before of even though they lived in the area for about ten years.
Beautiful day? Check. Beautiful grounds? Check. Illegal picnic lunch? Check. Sculptures for climbing? Check.
There were big twisty sculptures that doubled as jungle gyms.
Massive cubes of unusual materials.
Changes in gravitational force.
The breadline was a tad unexpected.
Horses of distinction.
Twisted fairy tales.
Potential antennas for communicating with aliens. Buried treasure.
Mysterious misty women.
There were times we lost our heads.Abbie found hers again though. It turns out that grass does grow on Quinn. He also tried to be reborn in the great vaginal forest but found it nearly as uncomfortable as his original birth. Lisa took home a pet.
The kids thought they should have one too.
The pets didn't have balls but other things did.
Another shot of the horse? More or less scary than the other picture?Could a sculpture garden could be complete without peacocks?
Overall? A warped bit of fun.
