- My next door neighbors are selling their house to their son and daughter in law. Now David and Amelia are perfectly nice and all but Marilyn and Lou have been like honorary grandparents for Sam and we will miss them very much. It's not going to happen quickly because they're planning to buy a condo (in the area at least) that has not yet been built but it'll be a sad sad day when they move.
- It appears that the green in the bathroom is univerally spurned by those whose houses are filled with more muted tones. I still love the green so I'm trying not to let it bother me. Ben installed the vanity this weekend and nicked up the walls I spent so much time fixing and painting. I imagine it's inevitable.
- Ben has vetoed my plan to put a cover over the radiator in the bathroom because he doesn't think we'd be able to open the vanity doors. My lack of enthusiasm for stripping and painting the radiator led to him volunteering to take care of it and I think he's going to sandblast the damn thing and then we'll just find a clear sealant to put over the iron. I don't want it to be the green of the rest of the walls for two reasons, one is to break up the green a bit and the other is that I never ever want to paint the thing no matter what we do with the rest of the bathroom.
- The mud at North Beach is perfect for sliming people, nice and fine so it sticks to your skin. Sam and I went to North Beach and met up with Ben's sister, his mom, Nick, and Elise. Ben's mom and Nick are just back from a trip to Iceland. I want to go to Iceland! But back to the mud. It appears that smearing mud is very highly entertaining for the three and four year old set because Sam and Parker, his friend, spent just about forever smearing mud on me. I spend nearly forever showering to try to get it off.
- If you go to train day at the Shelburne Museum you must have a three year old boy in tow, it is a mandatory accessory.
- The bathroom project has now spread from the bathroom to the stairwell to the dining room and now the exercise room. It's all in the spirit of "while you've got the spackle out..." I'm now overwhelmed by the amount of work that must be done and have to tell myself that it doesn't all have to be done at immediately. It's driving me nuts though because there is a thin film of spackle dust over ever surface in the house.
- Beth and I headed down to Waterbury to meet up with friends for breakfast, including a friend visiting from DC. It was a kid free breakfast which means I didn't need to get up even ONCE to take care of someone elses needs. It's a wonderful thing. And no one interrupted me, again a wonderful thing. Beth and I headed to the Waitsfield farmers market afterward and discovered it's primarily an art market. But I did pick up a few things which leads to the last discovery
- The kinda purplish tomatoes? They don't have much flavor. Don't bother.
- Oh, and another thing, pesto pizza's ROCK!

Thanks for all the updates! It sounds like a busy weekend. When did you go to North Beach?
Do you have pictures of trains from the Shelburne Museum?
I do have a couple of pictures but didn't download them. Wait until you start downloading pictures and you'll know why I don't always get it done. Sometimes it takes FOREVER!
Oh, and we went to North Beach about 1 in the afternoon and met Sarah and crew there. Came back to our house and had burgers and dogs. I forgot to call you...it was all last minute - they called around 10:30 in the morning with plans to head to the beach. Sam didn't want to come back to the house. Of course.
