Bonus share

My neighbors, the ones who host the pick up location for the farm share are out of town and asked me to make sure things were going OK with the pickup and in return, told me to take their share this week.

And because I like to share my share so to speak, here is what we got today.

From the newsletter: 5# rainbow roots, 3# sweet potatoes, 3# cabbage, 1 butternut squash, 1 sugar pumpkin, 2# onions, 2# cippolini onions, 2# fingerling potatoes, sunflower sprouts from Gourmet Greens, Cabot Clothbound cheddar cheese from Jasper Hill in Greensboro, bread from Patchwork Bakery, organic apple cider from Champlain Orchards, cranberries from Vermont Cranberry Co., organic butter from Compton, QC, and organic barley and yellow peas from Michel Gaudreau's mill, also of Compton

I didn't see any pumpkins today so I'm not sure what happened to that part of the share but there were lots of goodies in this one. Butter and cheese, how can we go wrong with those?

Sam is such a butter boy. The other day he wanted to butter his own bread which is fine. I was puttering around not paying much attention to him when noticed that he'd put almost half a stick of butter on the half slice of bread he he was buttering. When I stopped him, he was furious because there was still a spot of bread with no butter....

That's a very orange looking garden share this week!

Mmm, butter. How can it be bad?
