Major Milestone for Sam

His first Coca-Cola. Wheeeee!

We had a party yesterday, a relatively spur of the moment Memorial Day party. We set up a cooler with beverages just to make it easy for people to help themselves to whatever they'd like to drink.

When we're at parties (and have them) I don't try to control what Sam eats and drinks since everyone needs to be able to splurge sometimes but I hadn't really considered the allure of the bright red can until Sam walked into the room holding it in front of him as though it was a gold chalice. I opened it for him and he happily carted it around with the rest of his dinner....potato chips and corn chips, oh, and a hotdog.

It must not have been as wonderful as he thought it would be though because a couple hours later I found his plate with some of his food and the can of soda, still mostly full. Thinking ahead to his nearing bedtime I convinced him to put it on the counter while he was playing and when his back was turned I poured a good portion of it down the drain.

He came back to it later, drank some and spilled most of what was left.

Five minutes later, he was back, holding a brand new unopened can of Coca-Cola.....
