And a few more odds and ends

Fortunately or unfortunately, this is the end of the line for the dress up box posts. It doesn't mean that the box is empty, it just means that I don't want to take pictures of the various scarves and wooden swords and headbands and cardboard crowns in the box. These are the things that struck my fancy. First off is Popeye's hat. The box, however, was spinach-free. We've tried to teach Sam the Popeye song but it hasn't really stuck yet but perhaps it will if we repeat it when he's wearing this cap. Just in case you needed a refresher course yourself, it goes like this:


"I'm Popeye the Sailor Man,
I'm Popeye the Sailor Man.
I'm strong to the finich
Cause I eats me spinach.
I'm Popeye the Sailor Man."

The words "Sutter R.M." are written on the cap. It means nothing to me and even has google sputtering. Any ideas?

Next up is this sweet little brownie beanie. I was a brownie but I don't remember having a beanie. This one is a nice heavy wool beanie and I looked it up, the new ones have a little white symbol instead of an orange one. I suspect this belonged to Ben's sister Sarah when she was a girl but I could be wrong; perhaps she never joined the brownie cult.

Moving on, when did velcro become available? This raincoat has velcro fasteners but seventies colors so I'm all confused.

It's very bright and appears to still be waterproof so if anyone is seeking a raincoat, please let me know.

Yachting anyone? Perhaps this belonged to the Captain on Gilligan's Island. Oh how I loved that show when I was a kid! I don't know if it's shown in reruns any longer but perhaps I should look for it and record it for Sam. Classic silliness.
