Baby it's COLD In here!

I think this is Lola's editorial comment about the temperature of our house. (Please ignore the cat hair in the radiator.)

Since the not-at-home and sleeping temperature in the house is 58°F and the at-home temperature is generally not a whole lot higher, I decided we needed some inexpensive toasty fleece to wrap around ourselves. I took Sam to the fabric store to help me pick out Sam-approved patterns. He gave me a thumbs up on my dotty choice.

He selected this for Ben, apparently more in tune with the male stereotypes than in what interests Daddy.

But the most interesting choice is what he picked for himself. Remember that this is the kid that hides his head during the scary parts of "Finding Nemo" just to put this in perspective. Yes, that is exactly what it looks like! Leering black and white skeleton heads with military cammo background.
I can sort of understand why Sam thinks this is exciting...probably at least partially because I actively tried to discourage him from choosing this design. The other people in line in front of us at the fabric store were laughing about it too so that probably raised the coolness factor.
What I really wonder about is the state of mind of the person that designed this pattern in the first place. I must admit I'm glad not to know this person.
