When I was a kid every year near Christmas we'd get the JC Penny Christmas catalog and each of us would spend hours drooling over all the toys in the book. We'd consider everything carefully, talk about what we really wanted and dream that Santa would leave it for us on Christmas morning.
Now it seems the tradition of catalog toy drooling has been passed to the next generation although I suspect it happens much earlier in the year than when I was a kid. Sam was looking through the catalog pointing out everything he liked and wanted. I suggested he circle everything that he liked. Here are some sample pages. I especially enjoy the pages where he's circled every single thing! He's also circled some of the things he's already got because, well, I guess one isn't enough or perhaps the one in the book is slightly different than the one he owns. The next lesson - you can't always get what you want.

We did that, too. It was fun!
Might be easier to give Sam a big black marker and have him cross out those things he doesn't want.
