Feeling lighter

Sam's home from school today on account of his fever. Is that grammatically correct?

He's not overly sick, just seems to be getting a cold, so he's up for doing a bit of something. He decided that there were a few of his toys he wanted to give to his friend Ronan*. That's not unusual, he often likes to give things away and I encourage it although I do need to explain that when he's giving something to someone, it needs to be because he thinks the other person will like it, not because he, Sam, wants to get rid of it.

Sam assembled the things and among the items is a huge fishing tackle box that been Ben's. Is it bad that I did a little happy dance to get it out of our lives?

*I warned Ronan's parents of incoming stuff and got their general approval. I also passed on information about Freecycle which is what I usually do with things we no longer need/want and aren't worth selling.
