There is a kids race associated with the Burlington City Marathon, the YAM SCRAM. Sam ran with his buddies last year but this year, we didn't connect with his friends before the race so he ran alone.
No real pre-race jitters for this boy!
See? No stress.
And no speeches this year either. I guess they learned their lesson last year.
Sam had his own cheering section.
He was determined. He ran hard. He ran fast. And unlike last year, I was able to find him in the crowd.
His medal.
He seemed to think it was equivalent to the medals the marathon runners were sporting for finishing the whole 26.2 miles in under 4 hours. Why burst his bubble?
Now he's got a medal collection.
Note: For the sake of consistency, Sam once again lost a read balloon to the sky. Perhaps this is the real YAM SCRAM tradition.
