Sam's always been pretty independent. He generally doesn't follow the crowd although he will stick his toes in every now and then. He's avoided the crazy "Star Wars" fad of (hopefully) last year. He wasted just $5 on Silly Bandz before he lost interest the same day.
Yesterday there was a development that made me sad. We were eating dinner and he took off his "Rawr Means I love You in Dinosaur" tee shirt, turned it inside out, and put it back on. When I asked him why he said the kids were teasing him about it although apparently teasing = reading the words out loud. Oh how I wish he wouldn't care about what anyone thinks! I would like him to be the person he wants to be, to enjoy the things he really enjoys, not the things he thinks he should enjoy. Hang on to your individuality sweet boy! That is what I want for you.

I bet the kids were just reading it out loud because they CAN! Reading is kinda astonishing at that age.
