- Electricity in the dining room but not the kitchen.
- Electricity in the living room but not the stairwell and hallway.
- Electricity in the bathroom and Sam's room but not the other two bedrooms
- Electricity in the addition upstairs but none in the addition downstairs
- Electricity in half the attic but not the other half.
- No electricity in the basement. You know, where the FURNACE is located!
Anne tried all the breakers everywhere in the house. None had been flipped. On and off, on and off and still, no solution. There was no pattern to the outages that could be discerned.
Eventually the electric company was called and they made an evening visit. Ah ha! The problem was not in the house leading to a very large sense of relief as visions of calling an electrician on the off hours of a holiday week danced in Anne's head.
Sam put his Christmas camera to good use.
They're here!
The road is blocked. Oops! Sorry neighbors.
Equipment is hauled out.
And then, the really big excitement!
By about 9:00pm we had electricity! And heat!

Yay, heat! That's awesome! Very mysterious though. I totally don't understand what can happen to the service TO the house that interrupts some rooms and not others. Actually, it's creepy!
