Only Beth will be amused

Today Sam asked for the "head clowns" that he spotted when getting some juice-in-a-box this morning. Head clowns are more commonly known as clown heads and have a purpose related to cakes as displayed so creatively in Beth's 2003 masterpiece "clown and angry pumpkin with happy bear, orange triangle, and flowers" cake at left.

Just looking for a picture of Beth's cake made me yearn for the days when I had time to actually do things like this. Ahhhhhh

But I digress. Now Sam of course has no idea of the traditional use of clown heads but of course he came up with his own interesting use and of course I took a picture.

I expect that we will be terrorized by head clowns over the next several days, most often appearing underfoot, until said heads disappear into the chaos that is Sam's toy cabinet, perhaps never to be seen again.

PLASTIC DERBY CLOWN HEADS! PLASTIC DERBY CLOWN HEADS! I am very impressed that Sam already understands their allure. Smart kid!

I love the title you assigned to my cake - it sounds so important! and yet: obscure!

I think plastic derby head clowns would definitely have had a place at Phish concerts. Although they'd probably be pretty scary to anyone under the influence of creative substances...

And mmmmm, cake.
