We were able to distract him a bit through our Green Up Day expedition. That is when everyone in Vermont is supposed to pick up a trash bag and spends some time dejunkifying the general vicinity.

Picking up trash is enlightening and mystifying at the same time. By far the most numerous items we found were plastic bottle caps and cigarette butts but we also found a water spigot, the kind used outside for your hose, some little blue tags with numbers on them that I suspect was something nautical since it was right near where the boats are docked, something that said it wasn’t animal tested but that I have no idea what it was, part of a pair of glasses, and grossly, some plastic tampon applicators.

Today Sam and I went back to see if we could take some pictures of the frogs but alas, their frantic reproduction has ceased and all that remains are stings and strings and strings of eggs. Since I couldn’t take pictures of the frogs I took a picture of the slimy eggs. Maybe I'll do progress reports and keep a few of them as pets.
