Sam was happy today for the first time in about five days and I so appreciated the return of Happy Sam. Maybe we need the miserable days so we can really appreciate the good ones. We spent pretty much all day outside today and that means, of course, that we went back to the frog pond. Five days after the breeding frenzy, you get this:
Little black speckles of mini-tadpoles that don't move a whole lot. And a bunch of empty slimy egg sacks. Or whatever that stringy stuff is called. And when Sam spends a lot of time at the pond, you can imagine what you get. May I point out that he's not alone in his dip in the pond? In fact, he wasn't even the first one in. But he definitely found joy in the process.

But did MOM go in the slimy froggy pond?
There was a moment when I thought I was heading in but yay! Slime free except for the slime transfer from Sam. That wasn't insignificant either.
