Did I read this right?

In the paper yesterday I read that Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (that still sounds wrong) is having the state of California sue the largest car manufacturers for environmental damages caused by vehicle emissions.

Does he not understand that the cars aren’t the issue as much as the car culture, the lack of public transportation, and the crazy amount of commuting in the State? Hold people responsible for their own behavior? Heavens no, we can’t do that!

Isn't it like when the Democrats blame guns for all crime. Is Arnie turning into a Democrat? Isn’t it very un-Republican to blame a large corporation for anything as long as the companies are making sufficient campaign donations? Good thing I’m too lazy to go research campaign donations.

As Hal will be only too happy to tell you, Arnold is a RINO (Republican in name only).

Of course, that's one of his best features (Hal's AND Arnold's!)

I don't think the Republicans are known for being good at discouraging consumption. (The Democrats, either for that matter). Buying is good! That's how we fix the economy, right? Give people minor tax cuts so that they'll go out and spend more!
