First family hike of the season

Yup, Snake Mountain from the wrong (unpopular) side, approximately four miles round trip.
Putting on your shoes takes concentration.
But now he's ready to go!
Sam and headless Ben head up the trail.
To the beaver pond.Full of frogs.
There are toads nearby.
Finally, the top on an overcast day.
Time for lunch. That makes Sam happy.
Yup, shoes on the wrong feet the entire way up. "I like them like this!"
All holes must be explored.
Small boy and big stick.
Preferred travel mode on the way down.
We met up with two of these colorful fellas.
Final snake count: three live snakes, one dead snake (admired in both directions)

And I'd much rather hike up Philo. So much closer, so much steeper...
