So here is some random Anne information....
Gone on a blind date? Yes. It never worked out.
Skipped school? Only a class here and there, rarely. I’m a good girl I am. Except for those college years.
Watched someone die? I’ve seen the very difficult decline but wasn’t there for the last moment.
Been to Canada? I live in Vermont – isn’t Canada the state to the north? It’s nearly effortless to go there. I can’t say the same for returning to the US. Somewhere in my past there is an experience that includes a car being impounded and friends being detained but I prefer not to remember that.
Been to Mexico? Much harder to do accidentally so nope.
Been on a plane? There was a time in my life I was on a plane nearly every week. I’m very glad that time is over.
Been lost? I have no sense of direction. It’s a normal state for me.
Been on the opposite side of the country? I’ve hit all four corners of the continental US. I’m still waiting for the opportunity to go to Hawaii and Alaska to get the full effect.
Gone to Washington, DC? A few times, once in cherry blossom season and yes, it is all that.
Swam in the ocean? Hope to be doing it again soon although I very much hope it’s free of jellyfish.
Cried yourself to sleep? Who hasn’t? In the last five years it’s more likely that I’m crying because I can’t go to sleep thanks to a sleep disturbance called a child.
Played cops and robbers? Yes, and the now politically incorrect cowboys and Indians. We played even more politically incorrect games too but hey, it was the 60’s and I’m not telling Sam what are. And what do you know, despite my violent childhood, I've never shot anyone and have no plans to shoot anyone.
Recently colored with crayons? This morning I helped Sam trace a stuffed puffin onto paper with a crayon.
Sang Karaoke? I would never torture people that way.
Paid for a meal with coins only? My older brother and I payed for a pizza delivery with coins one time when we were the babysitters for my younger siblings. I remember we tipped the delivery dude a whole dime. And my parents laughed and laughed and laughed when we told them about it.
Done something you told yourself you wouldn’t many times? My coworkers want me to run a relay leg in the Burlington City Marathon. I don’t run. I hate running. I told them only if they absolutely positively could not find anyone else. They said we’ll see you there. I’m scared.
Made prank phone calls? Not since I was a kid but it feels as though the calls I have to make at work should be prank calls instead of real calls.
Laughed until some kind of beverage came out of your nose? My nose has been christened with beverages but not for a very long time. I’m smarter now, and drink less.
Caught a snowflake on your tongue? Yes, and I don’t worry about the various heavy metals and pollutants people are always talking about either. But then again, I’m a person known to take drinks from the hose in the summer time and I’m still alive.
Written a letter to Santa Claus? Yes, most recently on behalf of Sam.
Watched the sunrise with someone you care about? Oh, one memorable night in college I walked for miles with a guy I had a massive crush on. We walked out to a rocky point and watched the sun come up. I was convinced he was going to turn out to be my true love and it turned into…. absolutely nothing. Now I see the sun come up with Sam nearly every morning but it isn’t quite the same as watching the sun come up.
Blown bubbles? Lots and lots and lots of them. My friend and I surprised people by blowing bubbles off a hotel balcony overlooking the lake in Lake Placid on a beautiful sunny evening.
Gone ice-skating? Sam and I have been practicing with our hockey skates lately. Neither of us is particularly good at it.
Been skinny dipping outdoors? You don’t want to hear those college stories now do you? Lakes, college students, and alcohol = skinny dipping but only in the summer.
Saved someone’s life? Not that I know of.
Any nickname? Nothing that stuck. A roommate used to call me Nanners.
Favorite drink? Water. I think I’ve converted Sam too since he now wants water in his lunch instead of milk.
Any Tattoos? I cannot commit to anything so permanent. I wonder how many people end up regretting the ex-boyfriend’s name they had tattooed onto their shoulder when they were 18?
How much do you love your job? I love that I work part-time and get health insurance.
Favorite vacation spot? New places. I don’t like to repeat a great vacation in case it doesn’t live up to the past vacation.
Ever been to India? No, but two nights ago I dreamt I was in India with my first college roommate. I haven’t thought of her for ages and I certainly wasn’t thinking of India so I have no idea where that came from.
Ever eaten cookies for dinner? Yes, and lunch and breakfast and snacks. Cookies are a food group, aren't they?
Been on TV? One of my yoga classes was unexpectedly taped and used for the introduction of a local access yoga show my yoga teachers was doing. There were just a few quick shots where I appeared so I’m confident that no one could identify me in any way. And I’d just as soon never have a reason to be on television. When the reporters are hanging out on Church St. trying to get quotes from people I walk on the other side of the street.
Ever steal any traffic signs? Personally no, but I've aided and abetted my college roommates when they “borrowed” a saw horse thing with the lights on it and it lived in a closet at our apartment. That thing blinked for months. After it died we left it out on the street and I bet some other stupid college students stole it again.
Ever been in a car accident? Yes. I’m a terrible driver. I’m always happy to let someone else drive.
Favorite Pie? Chicken pot pie. I’m not a huge fan of eating fruit pie but I make them because almost no one else agrees with me on this. And they’re all impressed that I CAN make pie.
What do you do to relax? Hibernate in a toasty warm place with a good book.
How do you see yourself in 10 years? Old and fat and still wondering what to do with my life.

I thought you got married on a blind date!
I'm with you on the savory pie. Much better than the sweet pie. Ever have French Canadian meat pie (toutierre)? It's tres bien!
