Images of Wisconsin

While the truth is that we spent the entire time eating, I didn't take pictures of the food. I should have though!

Early morning flight...the sun comes up over Camels Hump.

Sam spent a lot of time swimming, much of it picking up coins from the bottom of the pool. Apparently, all that swimming made him shrink.

We spied on some baby birds. There are three in here although you can't really see the third.

Sam got to play with his cousin Johnny who is a whole 12 hours older than Sam.

I caught up with some high school friends. Mary is in the middle; we haven't seen each other for about 18 years because she lives in California now. Karen and I catch up whenever I'm in WI.

Sam got to go fishing three times. He went with my dad and Sam came back and told us "I caught 12 fish and Grandpa didn't catch any even though he's a better fisherman." Grandpa said that Sam has already learned to tell fish stories.

Sam is not much interested in baiting his own hook or removing his fish.

My mom took us to the children's museum in Appleton. Look! Sam the gerbil.

Gram and Sam flew and airplane there.

Sam and I had plasma car races. He won.

But the big excitement was around chipmunks. You know, this little cutie pie.

Sam decided he wanted to catch one so we rigged up a box trap. You don't remember box traps? I think it's just parental code for "get out of my hair for awhile!"

It takes patience, lots of patience. Uncle Joe helped him while away some time.

Eventually though, he lost patience.

Despite at least one close call, the chipmunks are still happily gobbling birdseed. If he'd have caught one, he had big plans for taking it on the airplane with us in a wooden box. That would have been fun to take through security, eh?

Looks like a nice trip! No rain!

great photo of you and your high school friends, and the airplane shot was beautiful. Looks like someone was up in the old control tower~
