Sam keeps asking to play chess and it is not one of my favorite games. He knows some basics but has a hard time keeping track of all the different pieces on the board and remembering how pawns move.
He's been pestering and pestering for days. I finally played this morning, intentionally trouncing him in hopes he'll move on to something else.
There were tears.
There was sulking.
Then he said "I want to play again."
I admire this kid's persistence. It will take him far (and drive me insane on the way.)
