Opps, she's done it again!

A word of advice...or two.

First, sharpen your knives regularly.

Second, don't be an idiot! Or you too could end up with a zipper finger just like mine.

Not only do you get stitches, you get to have your whole finger shot up with Lidocaine for a finger block which causes swelling around the base of the finger and impressive numbness.

Other suggestions that are probably less pertinent...if your farm share has both Valentine radishes and white beets which are very nearly interchangeable in appearance but of completely different texture assume that all are the much harder beets. (Yes, this is a knife slippage injury. No major damage, missed the nail and tendons. Five stitches, a good lesson for Sam.)

Hey, additional non-useful advice -- hire a cook or eat out for every meal.

I am now nicely bandaged and relatively comfortable although typing the letter "s" is a bit of a challenge.

Dang, woman! A little warning before the pics next time?

I am impressed with your presence of mind, too.

When did you do this. I have an almost matching one, the differnce being, mine is the pinky finger and only three stitches. Even the bandage matches! Mine was Saturday so of course I had to go to urgent care when I couldn't get it to stop bleeding. I always knew you were better at things. Typing is difficult with the hunt and peck system.

Yikes Mom! I did it on Sunday, just had to copy you and one up you a bit I guess! And yes, off to urgent care we went.

Let's not do this again, ok?

I come away from your experience with this wisdom: compost the radishes and beets. I can't stand either one...lol.
