I've slowly been changing out standard light bulbs for CFLs but after this last week, I'm back to incandescents for all but the most protected bulbs. Why? Because in the past two days Sam has broken two bulbs...and according to the on-line guidelines for clean up, you're supposed to dress in your full SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) suit*. We don't keep hazmat suits on site for some strange reason and our options are to get peeved at Sam who cannot stop fiddling with everything in his sight (he used my computer this morning and I came into my office to find the mouse pad on the floor, the phone off the hook, my camera MIA, the speaker in a new location, the printer blinking and a piece of it on the floor, the cap to the other camera on the floor, and of course, the lamp tipped over with a broken CFL) or just simplify my life by removing one potential hazard.
I am, however, tempted to find a way to zap him every time he picks up something he's likely to break. Perhaps banning him from my office is going to be a necessity.
*This might be a SLIGHT exaggeration. Perhaps. Just a little bit.
