Moving time!

Not us, Sam's goldfish! Judyboo's boss had an old 30 gallon fish tank stored at the office and she kindly offered it to us. Sam's goldfish were in a space much too small for them so I thought it was a good opportunity to upgrade their living arrangements. I was able to pick up a used filter at a very reasonable price and over the past week I've been plugging away at getting it set up.

Sam didn't have any space in his room for another 30 gallon tank so this tank is in my office and you know? I rather like having it there. Here are the Goldy and Silver's new digs.

It has a mirrored back so you get to see my elbows in this picture. Goldy and Silver appear to be thrilled to have ten times the space they had in their old tank but they seem to find the mirror a tad disconcerting too. It does, however, give the appearance of more fish without the overcrowding problem.

Sam's immediate reaction to the new tank is the excitement of possibly getting another fish, this time a bubble eye goldfish. They look deformed to me.

Mo is enjoying the tank too. Mmmm, fish for dinner!

This shows the color of the cabinet and frame. I painted it blue as a contrast to the orange walls. I'm still trying to decide if I like it.

Of course this left another fishy opportunity so we moved the beta Charlie from his midget case where no one could see him to the three gallon tank recently vacated by the Golds. He's kind of a cute little fellow.

He is also thrilled to have a little more space to play.

Sam other tank is coming along nicely. I managed to get a good shot of his guppies. Meet Yellowie, Blue Spot, and er, I don't remember. Ask Sam the next time you see him. I like these little guys.

We've also got three GloFish, two red and one yellow. Ben named them Zippy, Zippy, and Red but Sam doesn't get it and doesn't like the names. But they seem to have stuck.

The newest addition to the tank is a school of three head and tail light tetras. They are nameless -- can't tell one from another.

How in the world did we go from a goldfish won at the fair to three tanks? Save me.
