Dress up time!

Ben's Mom is moving from the house she's lived in for more than 35 years. It's a sad event, dismantling the house where so much has happened but it's filled with fun discoveries as well. Susan sent us home with a box of dress up clothes from when Ben and his sister were kids. As soon as we were home, Sam dug through the box to see what he could find.

He was very excited to find a cap gun and holster, his first toy gun that was larger than 2" in length. While I have mixed feelings about it, he certainly does NOT! He also found a cowboy hat that in my mind is more like a hillbilly hat. Here he is dressed as a hillbilly granny.

I love that picture. He's also wearing a vest that apparently belonged to Ben's sister when she was about 12 years old. Leather, fringe, and beads! It gets stuck on the holster which is a problem I'd never considered when watching old westerns. He's also wearing what he thinks is a tutu but it's really a petticoat. The gun and holster is there too although it's a little hard to see with the vest. I love this outfit! It seems to make him happy too. I think.

The hat, vest, and holster reappeared this morning. It is the perfect thing to wear while dining on pancakes and bacon.
